വാഷിങ്ടണ്‍: ബോയിങ് 737 മാക്സ് വിമാനങ്ങളുടെ തകരാറ് 2017ല്‍ തന്നെ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നതായി കമ്പനി സമ്മതിച്ചു. സമീപകാലത്തെ രണ്ടു വലിയ വ്യോമയാന ദുരന്തങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് കാരണമായ വിമാനമാണിത്. എന്‍ജിനീയര്‍മാര്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയ ഈ തകരാറിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒരു വര്‍ഷത്തിനുശേഷം ഇന്തോനേഷ്യയുടെ ലയണ്‍ എയര്‍ തകര്‍ന്നുവീഴുന്നതുവരെ മാനേജ്മന്‍െറ് അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ലെന്നാണ് വിശദീകരണം.

2018 ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 29നുണ്ടായ അപകടത്തില്‍ 189 പേരാണ് കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടത്. വിമാനത്തിലെ പൈലറ്റ് വാണിങ് സിസ്റ്റത്തിലായിരുന്നു തകരാര്‍. ലയണ്‍ എയര്‍ ദുരന്തത്തിനു പിന്നാലെ കഴിഞ്ഞ മാര്‍ച്ചില്‍ ഇത്യോപ്യന്‍ എയര്‍ലൈന്‍ വിമാനവും തകര്‍ന്നുവീണതോടെയാണ് ഈ സീരീസിനെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് സംശയങ്ങള്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നത്. ഇത്യോപ്യന്‍ എയര്‍ലൈന്‍ അപകടത്തില്‍ 157 പേര്‍ക്ക് ജീവഹാനിയുണ്ടായി. ഇതോടെ ലോകത്തെങ്ങുമുള്ള 737 മാക്സ് ഗണത്തില്‍പെട്ട വിമാനങ്ങളൊക്കെ കമ്പനികള്‍ നിലത്തിറക്കി.
